DID YOU KNOW?
Concrete can be Recycled!
Understanding Concrete Washout Bins
What Is Concrete Recycling?
We are able to recycle together concrete (wet and old), and water. Recycling is both less expensive and more environmentally friendly than bringing it to the landfill. Recycled concrete can be used for road gravel, barriers, retaining walls, landscaping gravel, or as a raw material in the production of fresh concrete.
The Process:
- We deliver a concrete washout bin to you.
- You fill the bin with concrete.
- We arrive with our Hydro Vacuum to remove all of the excess water that is at the top of the concrete bin and take it to a locally licensed water recycling depot. This is done to dry the concrete in the container so that it can be recycled.
- We then arrive with our Roll-Off Truck to pick up the bin and take it to the concrete recycling station where it will be crushed and recycled.
Help save the environment by recycling as the materials to make concrete are mined.
Why Need A Concrete Washout Bin?
Throughout Canada, there are places where it is illegal to dump fresh concrete onto the ground with water because of all the chemicals in the concrete that will react with the water. These reactions can be highly carcinogenic and corrosive. Regardless of what the concrete was used for, for example, piles, grades, beams, floors, walls, etc. With the use of this bin, we are able to recycle concrete and water to create new concrete.
Who Needs A Concrete Washout Bin?
Anyone who is doing a construction, residential, and/or commercial project where there’s extra concrete from a pour of concrete or have concrete that they need disposed of/recycled. In the past people have poured concrete into backyards which causes issues such as water pooling, unstable foundations, bacteria growth, and more. Nowadays, people have to dig out the concrete at least 18 inches deep to try and remove as much as possible. Be safe and recycle the extra excess concrete.
