Single vs Double Sink Stations – Which One Would You Choose?
| Feature | Single Sink Station | Double Sink Station |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity / Users | Designed for individual use or small groups | Allows two people to wash hands simultaneously, ideal for higher traffic areas |
| Space Requirements | Compact, fits in small tight spaces and hard to access areas | Requires more space but accommodates more users at once |
| Water Supply & Storage | Usually smaller water tanks, may need more frequent refills | Larger tanks or dual tanks, reducing refill frequency |
| Best For | Small worksites, tattoo booths, food trucks, or low-traffic events | Construction sites, festivals, farmers’ markets, or any location with multiple users |
Wash Station Placement Guidelines
For safe placement and easy servicing, all wash stations must be located within 30 feet of a road access point.
Acceptable Placement
- On a flat surface (driveway, gravel pad, grass)
- In public areas (where permitted)**
- On a closed road or street **
- Inside a garage/building ***
- During cold months: inside a heated building or heated enclosure when temperatures drop below 0°C.
- In a safe location (customer is responsible for any damages)
Not Allowed
- Working streets or roads*
- Sidewalks or public footpaths*
- Back alleys*
- Slopes or hills
** Customer may need a permit or permission from the city, town, village, or property owner.
*** The building door must be large enough to maneuver a wash station through, and the building must be well-ventilated.
Cold-weather requirement: To prevent freezing, damage, and unsafe operation, wash stations must be moved indoors (into a heated building or heated enclosure) when ambient temperatures fall below 0°C. If indoor placement is not available, contact operations for approved winterization procedures.
