Solar PanelRecycling & Disposal
Allan's Disposal Services helps homes, farms, contractors, businesses, schools, and facilities recycle eligible solar panels. Customers can request either pickup or drop-off service, and we work with the Recycling Facility and Association as part of the recycling process.
A responsible recycling path for working, damaged, broken, or replaced solar panels.
Solar panels contain multiple materials that should be handled responsibly when panels are removed, replaced, damaged, or reach the end of their useful life. Allan's helps collect, sort, assess, and recycle eligible panels instead of sending them to landfill.
Panels may be intact and still functional, or they may be broken, damaged, old, or non-functional. We work with the Recycling Facility and Association as part of the recycling process.
Working & Damaged Panels
We accept panels that appear to be working, visibly damaged, broken, or no longer in service.
Panel Identification Helpful
A clear photo or document showing the panel specifications helps us identify the panel type, confirm the requirements, and plan safe handling.
Condition Assessment
Panels without visible damage may be tested. Visibly broken or cracked panels are classified as damaged for safer handling.
Pickup or Drop-Off
Tell us your area, quantity, condition breakdown, and whether you are looking for pickup or drop-off service.
Check Your Solar Panels Before You Submit
You do not need to be a solar expert. If your panels match one of the sizes below, one of the listed panel types, and either condition, they meet our standard recycling requirements.
Accepted Panel Sizes
- 65" x 40" — approximately 60-cell
- 40" x 78" — approximately 72-cell
- 52" x 78" — approximately 96-cell
Accepted Panel Types
- Monocrystalline
- Polycrystalline
- Thin-film
Accepted Panel Condition
- Intact, undamaged, and still functional
- Broken, damaged, old, or non-functional
Choose Pickup or Drop-Off
Both options start the same way: send us the panel information first. We review the request before confirming pricing or arrangements.
Drop Off Your Solar Panels
Solar panel drop-off must be arranged by email first. Send the same basic information requested in the form so our team can review what you have before you bring the panels in.
- Number of panels
- Panel size and type
- Panel condition
- Photos or specifications when available
Request Solar Panel Pickup
Pickup is also arranged by email or through the request form. Pricing depends on the location, quantity, condition, whether the panels are already ready for transport, and whether a larger quantity needs preparation or packaging.
- We can come to the site to pick up panels that have already been removed.
- When needed, preparation and packaging for transport can be included in the pickup quote.
- Large quantities may require additional handling planning before pickup is confirmed.

Send us the panel details, condition breakdown, and photos, then choose whether you are looking for pickup or drop-off service.
Share the Panel Details
Upload a clear photo or document showing the panel specifications if available, plus photos of the panels themselves.
Tell Us the Quantity & Condition
Enter the total number of panels and break the quantity down by working or believed-working, visibly damaged or broken, and unknown or untested.
We Assess the Panels
Panels that are not visibly damaged may be tested to confirm condition. Visibly damaged panels are classified as damaged before recycling.
Arrange Pickup or Drop-Off
We review your request, confirm whether you need pickup or drop-off, and then provide the next steps before anything is scheduled or brought to our site.
Best Information to Send
For the fastest review, send your area, total panel quantity, condition breakdown, a photo or document showing the panel specifications, and clear photos of the panels. If the label is missing, we can still review the request.
Pickup is quoted after we review the panels and how they are prepared.
Every pickup request is reviewed before pricing is confirmed. The quote can vary based on location, panel quantity and condition, whether the panels are already ready for transport, and whether a larger quantity needs to be stacked, secured, packaged, or otherwise prepared for transport.
1. Email or Submit the Request
Send the panel quantity, size, type, condition, location, photos, and any information about how the panels are currently stored. This lets us review the pickup before giving you the next steps.
2. Panels Must Already Be Removed
Allan's pickup service starts after the solar panels have already been removed from the roof, rack, electrical system, or installation. We do not dismantle or disassemble solar panel systems on-site.
3. We Can Prep Them for Transport
If the panels are ready to load, pickup may be straightforward. For larger quantities or panels that need transport preparation, stacking, securing, or packaging can be included as part of the quoted service.
Pickup is confirmed only after review and pricing. Once arranged, Allan's can pick up the removed panels, prepare them for transport when required, and recycle them while working with the Recycling Facility and Association.
Tell us what panels you have.
Send us your contact details, area, total panel quantity, a condition breakdown, panel specifications, and photos. You can also tell us whether you are looking for pickup or drop-off service.
We accept working and damaged solar panels. Panels that are not visibly damaged may be tested to confirm condition, while visibly cracked, shattered, or broken panels are classified as damaged.
Why damaged panels need extra care
Some solar panels may contain small amounts of metals such as lead or cadmium. Intact panels are designed to keep these materials encapsulated, but broken, crushed, or improperly discarded panels can require more careful handling. Depending on panel composition and applicable regulations, some end-of-life panels may require specialized or hazardous-waste handling. Our goal is to divert eligible panels from landfill through responsible recycling.
Solar Panel Recycling FAQ
Common questions customers ask before booking solar panel pickup or recycling support.
What solar panels meet the standard recycling requirements?
Standard requests include 65" x 40", 40" x 78", and 52" x 78" panels that are monocrystalline, polycrystalline, or thin-film. Panels can be intact and functional or broken, damaged, old, or non-functional. Other sizes should be emailed to us for review.
Can I choose either pickup or drop-off?
Yes. For either option, send us the panel information first. Drop-off must be confirmed before you arrive, and pickup pricing is confirmed after we review the location, quantity, condition, and transport-preparation needs.
What happens after the panels are picked up?
After pickup or drop-off, Allan's handles the panels for recycling and works with the Recycling Facility and Association as part of the recycling process.
Will Allan's remove the solar panels from my roof or system?
No. Allan's does not remove or disassemble solar panels from roofs, racks, electrical systems, or other installations. For pickup, the panels must already be removed. We can then pick them up and, when quoted, prepare or package them for transport.
Can you handle large quantities?
Yes. Submit the total number of panels, condition breakdown, area, panel photos, and whether you are looking for pickup or drop-off service. This helps us plan the appropriate next step.
